Readcub Young Author Fellowship
Helping Children Become Published Authors (2nd Grade)
In just 6 weeks, your child will write, revise, and publish a real book—building confidence, literacy skills, and pride along the way.
Our Story
Readcub began at home, with our own children.
They wrote their first stories, saw their names printed in real books, and discovered something powerful: their ideas mattered.
Soon after, this same experience was brought into a second-grade classroom, where 24 students—guided by a certified elementary teacher—became published authors together. Readcub proudly sponsored their multi-author children’s book, supporting every step from writing to publication.
Those books are now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Readcub.com.
What started as a family project became a literacy mission:
to help young voices find their way into print.
Our Mission
Readcub helps children and classrooms become published authors.
We guide young writers from idea to finished book, building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong connection to reading and writing.
When children see their name in print, learning changes.
Writing becomes personal.
Reading becomes meaningful.
Confidence grows.
The Readcub Young Author Fellowship
The Readcub Young Author Fellowship is a 6-week, small-group literacy experience designed for children in 2nd Grade.
Through guided instruction, collaboration, and encouragement, children learn what it means to be a real author—and experience the pride of publishing a book they helped create.
The Young Author Fellowship is the first step in Readcub’s guided author journey for young writers.
Each fellow also receives a complimentary Readcub Author Journal, designed to help young writers capture ideas, practice storytelling, and continue writing long after the program ends.
What Your Child Will Do
During the program, your child will:
- Develop an original story idea
- Learn the basics of story structure (beginning, middle, end)
- Write and revise their own story with teacher guidance
- Practice reading aloud and building fluency
- Strengthen sentence writing, punctuation, and clarity
- Share their work in a supportive group setting
- Become a published author in a real book
No advanced writing skills are required—just curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to try.

- Is a credited author
- Has their own chapter in the book
- Includes a short author bio
- Receives one printed copy of the published book
- Receives a digital copy for sharing with family and friends
This is a real book—designed, formatted, and published with care—one families can proudly keep and share.
Books are sent to print after the program concludes and are delivered shortly after publication.
Why a Multi-Author Book
Publishing as part of a multi-author book allows children to:
